Wisdom From the Nile
I am about to embark on a pilgrimage to Egypt, and I have a feeling that in two weeks’ time, I will go back and read this post and realize there was so much that I didn’t know that I didn’t know.
Nevertheless, I am beginning to open up to the idea of blog posts. If anything, they create a snapshot in time. Writing for me can present challenges; waiting for the perfect thing to say - what is perfect anyway? So, now I take the plunge into simply putting words down, putting myself out there, and resting assured that probability states that it is will resonate with some of you.
Where to begin? I think it makes sense to go way back…
I mentioned in my last blog post that I was quite meditative as a child. Connected to this was my love and fascination for ancient civilizations, and in particular, ancient Egypt. I was not the girl who put Barbie on her Christmas list. I would have much preferred any book on ancient Egypt - to learn about the temples and pyramids - to procure the next National Geographic edition on the topic to attempt to satisfy something incredibly deep; a gnosis in a way.
I would get comments by adults, "oh, you must want to be a historian or archaeologist!” This exclamation seemed so absurd to me. It was hard to put into words at the time, but that wasn’t it at all for me. I know now that the term ‘sacred geometry’ best describes the strong pull that I was feeling to the subject matter. And as I learn more about myself, it comes as no surprise that I pursued an education in physics which relies heavily on geometry, and over time, recognized that I had an ability to perceive the next level of information through pattern recognition and stumble upon the golden threads between seemingly disparate topics.
In studying ancient wisdom over the last few years, it has become clear to me that the concepts from ancient times and those from modern science, in particular quantum physics, are one in the same. I’ve been ‘hit over the head’ several times with moments of rushing clarity that just because those that lived in ancient times lived in the past (although time is just a construct, but I won’t get into that), it doesn’t mean that the people of those times were any less advanced. Actually, I am coming to realize that perhaps they were much more advanced and just had a different set of terms to describe their ways of knowing.
I thought that my work in isotopes was cutting edge, and it is for our time, but those technologies are rooted in the physical plane - a form of modern alchemy where one element is transmuted into another. Ancient technologies tapped more into the electromagnetic spectrum using light and sound, and tapped even closer to source by delving into the subtle realm of scalar waves. Many are working in this realm today, but they often get brushed off to the side - their works finding a tiny home in the metaphysical section of Indigo.
So, in recent times, as I’m experiencing a reclamation of who I once was, armed with a foundational knowledge of modern physics, the concepts surrounding ancient Egypt have become so much juicier! In learning about the energetic body and our energy centres, I started to come across the notion that the Nile is a metaphor for the spine of the Earth, or Gaia - each key temple and pyramid along the way corresponding to our energy centres - and reaching the crown as the delta pours out into the Mediterranean Sea. Just as our plexus points mark the connection between our physical and energetic bodies, so too do the temples and pyramids represent the connection points to higher levels of consciousness through sound resonance; beautifully giving us an example of the Hermetic principle of correspondence, “as above, so below.”
Excited doesn’t come close to describing how I feel about this pilgrimage that I am about to embark on. I will start in Aswan, or the base of the spine, and sail up the Nile, making stops along the way, and ending at the Great Pyramid of Giza, representing the throat energy centre; maybe providing me with a further nudge in the direction of fully expressing myself. I am full of curiosity about what lies ahead, and thrilled to be able to integrate and synthesize what takes place on this journey to bring back to clients through workshops, live webinars, and online course material.
Stay tuned - there is much more to come!
